Flow

Redesigning a team collaboration app's mobile experience, turning an overwhelming feature set into a simple way for small teams to stay in sync.

The Challenge

Too Many Features, Not Enough Clarity

Flow's mobile app had grown feature-by-feature over two years without a unifying design system. New users regularly abandoned onboarding, and existing users only used a fraction of what the product actually offered because they couldn't find it.

The Approach

Simplify Before You Add Anything

Rather than adding more features, we ran a full audit of existing usage data to identify what people actually relied on daily. We restructured the navigation around three core jobs — plan, discuss, and track — and redesigned onboarding to surface only what's needed on day one.

Creative Direction

Calm Enough to Use All Day

The visual language shifted toward a quieter, more neutral palette with a single accent color reserved for actionable moments, so the interface stays out of the way during long work sessions instead of competing for attention.

The Solution

One Flow, Every Screen

We delivered a redesigned navigation structure, a simplified onboarding flow, and a documented component library that the in-house team has continued to build on for every feature shipped since.
