Common Ground coordinated hundreds of volunteers across dozens of neighborhood chapters using a patchwork of spreadsheets, group chats, and sign-up forms. Chapter leads had no shared way to post events, track attendance, or find volunteers with specific skills.

We worked directly with chapter leads to map their actual workflows, then built a lightweight community platform around events, sign-ups, and volunteer profiles — deliberately avoiding features that added complexity without solving a real problem.

The design prioritizes clarity over polish: large, legible event listings, clear calls to action, and a visual system that works as well for a volunteer signing up on their phone as it does for a chapter lead managing dozens of events.
